Do you sometimes feel the urge to see the city, yet don’t take the plunge? Do you feel the city of Delhi is unsafe and you can no more go out? Have you heard of Khirkee ki galiyaan, do you sometimes feel the need to find other people who would like to walk the public spaces and share experiences with them? If it is yes, yes and yes, then join us for this beautiful night walk from the historical ruins of the Satpula complex to the bustling modern lanes of Khirkee extension, which houses migrants from all parts of India and abroad. What we witness in the presence of an old city amidst the bustling sound of the modernity, while still trying to make spaces for the gendered beings. We will also request the poets among us to share their work meanwhile we read some of the poetry around the city of Delhi and love.
We will start from Satpula Lake complex, heading towards the eerie and dark Khirkee Masjid and then take the narrow lanes of Khirkee to reach the Press Enclave. We will walk the entire stretch till we reach the DDA park near Press Enclave Apartments. We will end at Malviya Nagar Metro Station.
Everyone is allowed to join us! There’s no gender restriction! (We have been getting phone calls regarding this.)
